HPLC determination of phenolic compounds in different solvent extracts of mulberry leaves and antioxidant capacity of extracts

نویسندگان

چکیده

The antioxidant activities and phenolic contents of mulberry leave extracts obtained by aqueous mixture acetone, ethanol methanol were determined. Both alkaline hydrolysis acid used to extract bound phenolics. HPLC was determine the profile extracted Three experimental assays, namely, Fe3+ reducing power (FRAP), ABTS- DPPH-radical scavenging activity, employed characterize their activity. This indicates that acetone most effective solvent for extracting free phenolics from leaves, exhibited highest capacity. In addition, found be efficient method produced an with better properties compared hydrolysis.

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Antioxidant activity of plant extracts containing phenolic compounds.

The antioxidative activity of a total of 92 phenolic extracts from edible and nonedible plant materials (berries, fruits, vegetables, herbs, cereals, tree materials, plant sprouts, and seeds) was examined by autoxidation of methyl linoleate. The content of total phenolics in the extracts was determined spectrometrically according to the Folin-Ciocalteu procedure and calculated as gallic acid eq...

Antioxidant Activity of Mulberry Fruit Extracts

Phenolic compounds were extracted from the fruits of Morus nigra and Morus alba using methanol and acetone. The sugar-free extracts (SFEs) were prepared using Amberlite XAD-16 column chromatography. All of the SFEs exhibited antioxidant potential as determined by ABTS (0.75-1.25 mmol Trolox/g), DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) (EC(50) from 48 μg/mL to 79 μg/mL), and reducing power assays. H...
